A MAN who had been a hermit for a long time was recently discovered dead by police in his rental house in Mwariki estate within Nakuru Municipality.
According to neighbors who talked to the star of Nakuru, the unidentified man had prior disappeared for a week, only for them to sense a foul smell emitting from his house.
Nakuru police boss Daniel Kimeu told the press that neighbors had reported the case to the police after noticing the door had been closed from inside.
“Police first suspected that the man could have committed suicide as they found no visible physical injuries. The deceased could have died while asleep mysteriously” said the police boss. According to the neighbors the middle aged man had lived a loner for a long time with no known friends or relatives.
As we went to press, a post mortem examination was to be carried out at the Nakuru Municipal Mortuary to determine the cause of the death while police were still trying to identify the deceased relatives.
Mawanga
In another related incident in Mawanga estate another lonely man who allegedly had been deserted by his wife and children, reportedly died in his house after a heavy drinking spree. Eye witnesses who talked to us hinted that the man identified simply as “Wamuthee” before his death was hooked to illicit brews and often went without food.
Neighbors informed this writer that the man who was in his late 40’s had been deserted by his family and lived by a hair's breadth even though he earned favorably from small scale agricultural and masonry activities.
However another source that sought strict anonymity divulged to our news desk that the deceased man died mysteriously out of a spate of curses believed by locals to be haunting those people who were involved in the torching of houses and murdering other Kenyans during the post poll violence in Nakuru. The unconfirmed source said that the victim was among a group of people that set on fire and destroyed property worth millions belonging to a local tycoon during the violence.
It is widely rumored in the village that several people believed to have been involved in the incident have died mysteriously while others have developed strange diseases.
